Wall paint is the backdrop for your entire home. In India it needs to survive dust, monsoon dampness, kitchen grease, children's handprints, and frequent cleaning.

Select a Colour Palette

Colour influences mood, light, and how often the wall looks clean. Indian homes benefit from colours that manage heat, dust, and natural light.

Putty, Primer & Moisture-Proofing

No paint lasts without correct wall preparation. Indian walls (especially older buildings) often have dampness, undulations, or loose plaster.

Wall Paint Decision Checklist

  1. Identify your room needs: washability, moisture, child-friendliness.
  2. Pick a paint type: Plastic emulsion for walls, satin enamel for doors/kitchen.
  3. Choose a sheen: Matte for low-traffic ceilings and bedrooms; eggshell/satin for living, kids, and passages.
  4. Select colours using the 60-30-10 rule; test with a 2×2 ft sample before buying full cans.
  5. Check the wall for dampness — use Damp Proof if any.
  6. Follow the sequence: Damp-proof → Putty (2 coats, sand) → Primer (1 coat) → Paint (2–3 coats).
  7. Stick to one brand for shade consistency; use their colour match machines.
  8. Budget using the room-wise coverage table; factor labour separately.
  9. Maintain: Wipe with a soft damp cloth (never abrasive scrubbers on matte). Touch-up leftover paint stored in an airtight container.
